Working primarily on bowls, spoons and pipes David uses various methods and tools, from traditional chisels and vises to modern angle grinders and clamps to create unique woodcraft inspired by utilitarian intent.

Davids passion for woodcraft comes from growing up in the woods of Western Maine where he regularly camped, explored, hauled sap out of the woods, and got up to no good.

 

His first experience with power carving/shaping was learning how to make a hatchet handle in his uncles workshop in Casco, ME.
